Are you looking for a cartoon like Tokyo Ghoul? Then Parasyte: The Maxim will be a good cartoon to watch. Both are great watches and very enjoyable and I highly recommend both. Tokyo Ghoul is more action based and shounen-like than Parasyte, as Parasyte deals with more thinking and is more philosophical-like. Tokyo Ghoul deals with this concept more often and also better than Parasyte did. Both also question what it's like for these species, sometimes representing the show in their perspective, and whether they deserve to exist or not. These series show what it's like for the human beings to be prey and hunted by stronger species. From being weak and frustrated of the situation they're in, to becoming stronger, confident in their powers, and accepting what they really are. The protagonists receive big-time character development. Both series do an excellent job of showing the new struggles for the protagonists, as they must adjust to their new lives. They try to hide their secrets from the people that are most important to them. Parasyte is still on going so it's definitely a show to watch to fill in a thursday every week. I recommend this anime to those who enjoyed Tokyo Ghoul. The fighting and blood, gore scenes are similar. For Parasyte, the MC has a parasyte in his right arm but is slowly starting to think and act like them) They involve the MC wanting to fight back against these monsters that they're up against and hopefully save those who are close to them, but slowly start to change themselves.īoth animes have a similar feel when it comes to the art, MC, and so on. (For tokyo ghoul, the main character is half human, half ghoul. Story: Both stories are about the MC being semi taken over by the monsters in the show. Also, the sounds in the background or during a fight scene are perfect. Sound: Both animes have a great soundtrack to them. The blood, killings, and fights are also drawn similarly.
